Fees for Services SPECIAL NOTE: Each project is INDEPENDENTLY PRICED and NEGOTIABLE | Book Cover Design | The standard fee is $500. This includes the front, back and spine. The finished design of the cover is dependent on the total number of pages of the completed book as this will affect the width of the spine. Having the same person design both your book cover and book interior will give you more control over the design, and produce a more consistent package. |
| Book Interior | Layout and Design The standard fee is $4 to $10 per finished page, depending on the complexity of the manuscript. Your book should be as clean as possible to obtain the lowest fee. Editing Revisions on a book before the final submission are expected. Minor edits (up to 25 corrections) are included in the fee quoted. Anything beyond that, such as retyping, rearranging and additions will acquire additional fees ($.25 to $5 depending on the corrections). Typing My typing skill is in the 90wpm/95% accuracy range. If your book requires typing, you can scan and e-mail it to me, or send by regular mail. The standard fee is $5 to $15 per finished page, more if there are tables, graphics, images, equations or complex formatting. |
Additional Services Offered | Journal Article: Standard fee of $5 to $10 per page, fee may be higher or lower depending on the complexity of the article.  For a scientific article to be submitted to a journal such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers or the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, additional fees may be required for equations. I have done several articles for both journals. The fee starts at $1 per equation.
Newsletter: Standard fee of $50 per page, fee may be higher or lower depending on the complexity, design and images Brochure: Standard fee of $50 per page, fee may be higher or lower depending on the complexity, design and images |
| Additional Charges | Tables: Standard fee is $5 per table Graphics/Images: Standard fee is $5 per image; additional fees may apply for resizing, color correction or touch ups Photo Scanning and Placement: Standard fee is $5 per photo; additional fees may apply for resizing or touch ups PDF File Submission: Included in the price will be two PDF proofs to the client. Prior to submitting the final PDF file to the printer or publisher, I will run Acrobat Pre-Flight and Distiller, correcting any errors concerning the layout, fonts and images. |
Editing Information | Substantial Editing: I will work with you in reorganizing or rewriting your document if needed, assuring that the content is accurate and complete. Most work will not require this. Copyediting: I will check for spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage errors; assure style consistency throughout the document. Proofreading: I will proofread your document after it has been edited and designed, checking for any errors or inconsistencies, ensuring that during the layout design process no errors were created regarding structure and format. |
| Payment Information | After receiving a detailed description and a sample of your project, I will provide you with an estimate. I will consult with you as frequently as necessary on all aspects of the design process. After reviewing the details, you will receive a proposal outlining how the project will be handled and a description of the cost for each step. Upon your acceptance of the proposal, I will draw up an Agreement Letter. The standard payment arrangement is below. |
One-third of the total fee upon acceptance and receipt of the Agreement Letter One-third of the total fee prior to your receipt of the first proof The final one-third of the total fee prior to submitting the final product to you NOTE: Printing fees are dependent on the project type and may or may not be extra. The fees listed below are simply an estimate of what I charge and are negotiable. Should you choose to use my services, and the arrangements are not satisfactory with you, we will both work together to come to an agreement in every aspect of the project. |
